Warriors Score 22 Runs In Rout Of WabashWABASH – For the second-straight night, Wawasee scored more than 20 runs in a non-conference baseball game. In Wednesday’s case, the Warriors plated 11 runs in the fifth inning to wrap up a 22-6 win at Wabash.
Wawasee won its first game of the season 23-2 at Bethany Christian Tuesday night.
The Apaches carried a 4-3 lead into the fourth inning before Wawasee exploded for eight runs in its half of the inning.
Spencer Prescott led the Wawasee attack with a double, two singles, three runs scored and five runs driven in. Gavin Barker doubled twice, singled, scored four times and drove in a pair of runs. Jake Crousore reached base four times with two singles and two walks. He stole a pair of bases and drove in two.
Blake Norris got the win on the mound for Wawasee, allowing two earned runs in 3-2/3 innings of work. He walked six and struck out three.
Wawasee is scheduled to play at Manchester at 5 p.m. today.
