Vote Nisly

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
Having  read with interest the positions of supporters for Dave Kolbe and Kurt Nisly, a good many people seem to be jumping the fence to vote for one or the other. I appreciate Dane Millers letter and his position.
I have worked for his company many years and working for Dane has been the opportunity of a lifetime. I respect Dane a lot. One thing he expected of his team members (he never called us employees) was team play. Pull together, work together, correct your mistakes, (because you're going to make them) and get the job done. I reject the notion Dane would allow someone to work for him who is pulling in the opposite direction.
I had the opportunity to listen to Dave Kolbe and his views in a setting with a small group a few years ago. I cannot quote Mr. Kolbe, no one was taking notes, but I do remember coming away from that meeting with the feeling that I had never met a more anti-business, pro-big government, neo-liberal.
Intellect and oratory are admired attributes, they can be a great help or a fierce opponent.
They can even get you elected as President of the United States. However, more important than intellect or oratory is what you believe. I appeal to the voters of District 22: Don't vote for someone who will use their skills or position against you, vote for a team member, vote Nisly this election cycle.
