On May 5th, you’ll have the opportunity to make history by electing the first woman judge to the bench in our county, but there is so much more to Karin Mcgrath and it’s my absolute pleasure to tell you just some of the reasons why Karin McGrath is the best candidate for Superior Court 3.
For over seven years Karin worked for our community prosecuting crimes in Kosciusko County. Karin was a tough but fair prosecutor: tirelessly prosecuting cases brought to her by the officers who serve our community; relentlessly pursuing just outcomes that provided the appropriate amount of deterrence, retribution, restitution and rehabilitation; fostering positive and respectful relationships with others within the criminal justice system.
As a deputy prosecutor, Karin conducted countless criminal bench trials as well as several criminal jury trials – essential experience for a judge whose docket consists of criminal cases and jury trials. Karin directed the efforts of Prosecutor’s Office staff as they worked together to create an office of integrity, hard work and genuine concern for doing the right thing.
Karin and her husband Keith have been married 32 years. Karin is an exceptional mother, grandmother, Christian, lifelong Republican, former teacher and community volunteer. Although driven by conservative values, when elected I believe Karin will set aside her personal prejudices and consider the facts of each case impartially, with integrity, and in light of the laws of our state. Karin’s blend of humility and confidence would afford me the ability to show respect to all, control intense situations and make difficult decisions.
