To the voters of Kosciusko County:

On November 3, 2020, you have the unique opportunity to shape the future of your court and your county by choosing a judge for Superior Court 3. I encourage you to vote for Antony (Tony) Garza and make him your next judge.

I am a practicing attorney with 42 years’ experience, primarily litigation oriented, and I have a strong criminal background both as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney. I presently have no cases pending in your courts and do not expect to have any cases in the future based on my current field of practice. Thus, my endorsement is based on my prior involvement with your court system and I stand to gain nothing by this endorsement.

I had the honor and privilege of serving your community as a deputy prosecutor several years ago on a temporary basis as a result of a military deployment. Upon the return of the deployed person, I then served as a public defender in Superior Court 3. This provided me with the opportunity to see, get to know and work with and against many of your fine lawyers in Warsaw. Tony was a strong opponent, always prepared and well versed in both the facts of his case and the applicable law.

I did not do any civil work in Warsaw but could easily tell that Tony was a strong civil practitioner as well. Even in a criminal case, there are always significant civil issues present.

I believe that Tony has the temperament necessary to be an excellent judge and would serve your county well for many years.

In the approximately 2½ years I worked in Kosciusko County I do not recall having a single case with his opponent. That alone tells me that he lacks the litigation experience to be your next judge. I am told that he has a strong family name in your community and from what I know of him and my personal contacts with him, he is a good person. But, don’t bet your future by voting based on name recognition. Vote based on experience, knowledge of the law, competency, temperament and personality for your next effective judge.

Please vote for Antony (Tony) Garza on November 3.
