Editor, Times-Union:
Kosciusko County government at this time is in sound fiscal condition. They are using, and have been using the best practices to conduct business. The commissioners work for us, the taxpayers.
It is disturbing when at the recent candidate Q&A, the question was asked if we would be in favor of a “new tax” to fund “quality of life issues,” knowing all the amenities and personal services the county provides to the residents (home care and hospice, cardinal services, 4-H, bike trails, hiking trails, parks, lakes, etc.) Bob said no, but Mr. Geiger said yes. He would use tax dollars to have a new tax to provide the same services the county currently provides, as well as using grant monies and other revenues. The only revenue at the government level is our tax dollars. We are a conservative community, we have always lived within our means, so we should not vote to establish a new tax. As we vote for Bob Conley, we keep good sound practices going and responsibility at the county level of government.
Mr. Conley has worked for us, the taxpayers and voters, for the past 12 years, and he looks forward for your continued support in the future. Let’s keep a good thing going in our county. Bob Conley has a fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers of Kosciusko County. Vote for Bob Conley in next Tuesday’s primary election. May God continue blessing our county! Thank you.
