Vivian C. Blue, 99, Nappanee, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 15, 2015, in her home.
She was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Woodburn, to Oscar and Bertha Spencer Slusher. On July 20, 1935, in Peru, she married Charles “Pete” Blue, who died June 6, 1993.
She was a 1934 graduate of Claypool High School and lived in Nappanee for the past 20 years from Warsaw. She was a janitor for Warsaw Community Schools for 14 years.
She is a past member of Warsaw Eagles Auxiliary; loved to hunt for mushrooms and fish; enjoyed doing craft work; enjoyed traveling with her husband and family; loved her family – Sunday dinner was always held in her/their home.
Surviving are a daughter, Cleora “Clete” Rensberger, Nappanee; a son, Terry (and spouse Nancy) Blue, Warsaw; a sister, Zed Heintzelman, Larwill; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Charlotte Bays and Dixie Mikel; a son, Lawrence Blue; five brothers: Jim, Noble, Paul, Gerald and Erven Slusher; and six sisters: Daisy Hyde, Donnabelle Davis, Vi Rosbrugh, Dorothy Sutherland, Florence Miller and Joy Kyle.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Norm Reimer, retired, Nappanee Missionary Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
