NAPPANEE - Virginia Fern Weaver, 90, of 155 Morningside Drive, Nappanee, died at 9 p.m. Jan. 31, 2010, in the emergency room at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born April 14, 1919, in Foraker, to Glen and Mary Kauffman Domer. On Oct. 31, 1933, she married Charles E. Weaver.
A lifetime Nappanee resident, she attended Elkhart schools and was a cook at the B&B Restaurant, Nappanee, for many years. She attended Church of God.
Surviving are eight children, Charles A. (and spouse Shirley) Weaver, Dolores Culp, Donald Weaver, Devon (and spouse Pat) Weaver, James (and spouse Diane) Weaver, Dixie Roeder and Connie Thomas, all of Nappanee, and Carol (and spouse Jerry) Sherk, Gladewater, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Jones, Louisville, Ala. She was preceded in death by a sister and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Church of God with the Rev. Sam Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
