Virgil A. Sherer, 95, formerly of 1711 W. Old 30, Warsaw, died at 7:10 p.m. April 18, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor.

She was born Dec. 3, 1913, in Marshall County, to Frank and Minnie Casper Shively. On Sept. 11, 1937, she married Harold Sherer who died in 1985.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw. She belonged to the Magazine Club and Dorcas Society with the First Christian Church, of which she was a member. She was a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (and spouse Elaine) Sherer, Valparaiso, and Dr. Richard (and spouse Sandra) Sherer, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Ronnie Sams officiating. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Calling is from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
