FORT WAYNE — Vernon A. Fawley Jr., 80, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born in Warsaw to the late Vernon A. Sr. and Pauline Fawley. He graduated from North Webster High School in 1957.
Vernon worked several years on passenger trains for the railroad and also as an expeditor with U.S. post office of Fort Wayne for 43 yeas years, retiring on Jan. 1, 2001. He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
Vernon was an avid model train collector and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his loving wife of almost 60 years, Anna Marcille Fawley, Fort Wayne; son, Gregory (Laura) Fawley, Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Jean (Michael) Anicka, California, Ky.; grandchildren: Matthew Fawley of the U.S. Army; Kimberley (Chase) Augeson, Willmar, Minn.; Stephanie (Clay) Kennerk, Fort Wayne; Courtney Fawley, Tucson; Phillip Hofer, Fort Wayne; Bethany Fawley, Tucson; Katie Hofer, Fort Wayne; anticipated great-granddaughter, Brynlee Kennerk; and also survived by a son-in-law, Michael Hofer, Fort Wayne.
Vernon was preceded in death by daughter Suzie Hofer and sister Joyce Read.
Service is at 1:30 p.m. Thursday June 7, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 4700 Vance Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
Calling is also from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
