ARGOS – Velma Lucille Warner, 89, of 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, and formerly of Argos, died at 5:35 p.m. June 18, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, following a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Winamac, to Samuel L. and Della A. Waltz Heims. On Feb. 29, 1939, in Argos, she married Harold D. Warner, who died May 4, 2013. She lived in the Argos community for more than 73 years, coming from Winamac. She was a homemaker and a member of Gospel Meeting House, Ora. Surviving are two daughters, Pat West, Warsaw, and April R. Warner; three grandchildren: Rick Rish, South Bend; Lee Ellen Rish, Tunker; and Elizabeth (and spouse Alex) Clark, Warsaw; four great-grandchildren, Annabel Clark and Osiris, Thaddeus and Leonidas Rish; and her sister-in-law, Janet Heims, Plymouth. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Vera Leitchwark and Aderine Heims; and five brothers: George, Ralph, Charlie, Merlyn and the Rev. Vern Heims. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, officiated by the Rev. Don Franklin of Gospel Meeting House, Ora.
