Valley Winter Sports Awards PresentedAKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Athletic Department presented its winter sports awards Wednesday night. Anne Secrest, Meredith Brouyette, Hannah Dunn and Addy Miller were team captains for the girls basketball team. Secrest won awards for best field goal percentage, best free throw percentage, and for the most rebounds, steals and assists. Miller had the highest three-point percentage, Brouyette won the mental attitude award, and Dunn the Booster Club Award. Alec Craig, Jarod Duzenbery, DeSean Heckman, Keith Wright were captains of the boys basketball team. Craig was the most valuable player on the team and had the most assists. Heckman won the Booster Club Award and had the best field goal percentage. Wright won the mental attitude award and had the best free throw percentage. Duzenbery the most rebounds, and Tanner Trippiedi had the best three-point percentage. Christian Baca was the boys swim team captain, and Chase Brower was the MVP. Dan Alexander won the Booster Club Award, and Mason Stephen was tabbed Rookie of the Year. Jacob Wagner was most improved, Camden Tucker won the mental attitude award, and Jacob McDonald had the best work ethic. Blake McBrier was the captain of the girls swim team, and Olivia Livengood was the MVP. Kinzie Prater won the Booster Club Award and had the best work ethic. Mayde Fear was Rookie of the Year, Tiphanie Hodge was most improved, and Grace Revere won the mental attitude award. Dylan Warner, Tyler Manuszak, and Isaac Randall were wrestling team captains. Devin Bandow was the MVP, was chosen Mr. Takedown and had the most pins. Jon Burris was most improved, and the fastest pins were recorded by Manuszak and Humes. Jordan Owens was the Booster Club Award recipient, and Dylan Warner won the award for best mental attitude. Kennedy Niedbalski, Laira Myers, Yarley Smalley, Lindsay Gamble, and Breanna Kruger were cheerleading captains. Niedbalski was the most spirited and best leader, Myers the most outstanding, and Kruger the mental attitude award winner. McKenzie Dunn won the junior varsity mental attitude award, and Yarley Smalley won the Booster Club Award.
