NORTH MANCHESTER – Led by juniors Emily Peterson and Sophie Bussard, the Tippecanoe Valley Lady Vikings beat rival Manchester in three sets Thursday evening.
In Three Rivers Conference volleyball action, Peterson led Valley with 35 assists, while Bussard tallied 16 kills and 11 digs, leading the Lady Vikings to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-23 victory over the host Lady Squires.
Valley improved to 14-5 overall and 4-1 in the TRC standings, while Manchester fell to 7-10 and 2-3.
Junior Hannah Durkes had four service aces in the win.
For Manchester, junior Emma West tallied 16 assists and 10 digs, while senior Sydney Day finished with seven kills and a dig, and junior Anna Osborne added six kills and a block.
The Manchester junior varsity team beat Valley 25-23, 23-25, 15-13.
Mackenzie Day led the Lady Squires with 13 assists and eight digs in the JV contest, while Andrea Kahn and Greta Auler added 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
Allison Betten led Valley’s JV squad with 12 digs and four aces, and Hanna Engstrand chipped in with 10 assists.
The Lady Squires will play in the Leo Invitational Saturday, while Valley is off until Thursday when it hosts conference foe Northfield.
