Valley Opens Track Season Indoors At Culver Academies

CULVER – Tippecanoe Valley opened its boys and girls track seasons at a six-team indoor meet at Culver Academies Tuesday. No team scores were kept, but both teams had success in the meet.
Three Vikings were the only athletes to successfully complete a high jump. Justin Peconga and Keith Wright tied for first with leaps of 5-4, and Dwight Conley cleared 5-2 for third place. Izaiah Brown won the 220-yard dash and Jameson Baker took first in the shot put.
Dakota Parker tied for second in the 40-yard dash, and the 4x367-yard relay team finished second. Peconga was third in the mile run, and fourth-place finishes were posted by Wright in the 440, Will Hasssenplug in the shot, and Jarrod Mikel in the 45 hurdles.
The Lady Vikings won the 4x245-yard relay, and were third in the 4x367 relay.
Individually, Caleigh Bryer tied for second in the 40, and Alyssa Brito did likewise in the 220. Valeria Jiminez was third in the 440 and tied for third in the 45 hurdles. Sarah Tucker was fourth in the 220, Olivia Smith took fourth in the high jump and Brianna Kruger was fourth in the 440.
Valley will open its outdoor season Tuesday when it hosts NorthWood in a dual meet.
