Valley Fall Sports Awards PresentedAKRON – Tippecanoe Valley’s athletic department presented its fall athletic awards this week.
GIRLS GOLF
Makayla Sandbakken of the girls golf team won the medalist and putting awards. Bethany Johnson won the mental attitude and Booster Club awards. Jordan Krotke was most improved, and Krotke and Sandbakken were recognized as team captains.
BOYS TENNIS
Captains of the boys tennis team were Dakota Parker, Garrett Feldman, Seth Hoffman and Eric Wright. Hoffman was the No. 1 singles player, Feldman won the mental attitude award, and Parker had the best record. Payton Mills won the Booster Club award.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Haley Hoover was the captain of the girls cross country team and was the mental attitude award winner. Jadyn Kolesiak was the most valuable runner, Lauren Sponseller the most improved, and Valeria Jimenez the Booster Club award winner.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Jordan Owens was the captain and most valuable runner for the boys cross country team. Chase Miller was the most improved, Matthew Howes won the mental attitude award, and the Booster Club award went to Evan Lowman.
VOLLEYBALL
Shayleigh Shriver, Sophie Bussard and Olivia Trippiedi were the captains of the volleyball team. Bussard had the most digs, most kills and the highest passing percentage. Shriver had the most aces, and Trippiedi the highest serving percentage. Emily Peterson had the most assists and the best kill efficiency. Rachel Randall was the Booster Club award winner, Amy Baca the most improved and Marlea Myers won the mental attitude award.
SOCCER
Alyssa Brito, Fabian Mar, Alan Jimenez and Drew Hartman were captains of the soccer team. Mar and Xabier Armentia-Touza were the most valuable offensive players, with Hartman and Jimenez the MVPs on defense. Kaitlin Neese was the most improved, Seth Baird the Booster Club award winner and Mar the MVP for the team.
CHEERLEADING
Olivia Bell won the Booster Club award from the cheerleading squad.
FOOTBALL
Football captains were Devin Bandow, Hunter Hyden, Bryce Webster and Isaac Randall. Alex Morrison was the most valuable player on the team.
Wes Melanson, Jaydin Conley and Hyden won iron man awards. Hyden, Webster and Jose Rivera were selected as most valuable linemen, and Melanson the most valuable linebacker. Bandow was the MVP of the secondary and Noah Miller the most valuable receiver.
Cameron Parker was the MVP among running backs and specialists, Jon Humes was most improved, Camden Tucker the mental attitude award winner, Bandow the warrior award and Brant Norris the Booster Club award winner.
