TVMS Winter Sports AwardsAKRON – Tippecanoe Valley Middle School’s athletic department presented its winter sports awards Tuesday night. Wrestler Ethan Sprague was named rookie of the year. Andrew Burke was most improved, and the mental attitude award went to Drake Montelongo. Luis Castillo was the Captain’s Award winner, and Tyler Nine was named most valuable wrestler. Kaydence Mellott was the sixth-grade girls basketball offensive most valuable player, and Molly Moriarty won the defensive MVP. Talia Holder was most improved, and Riley Honeycutt won the mental attitude award. Brittany Benn was the “B” team MVP, and Madelyn Weaver was the most improved. Brayden Baney was the seventh-grade girls basketball Miss Viking award winner, and Corrine Kimble was defensive MVP. Kaylee LaFollette was most improved, and Abigail Beliles was the mental attitude award winner. Sidney Wagner was the eighth-grade girls basketball MVP, and Ashley Butler was most improved. Kaitlin Neese was the mental attitude award winner, and Taylor Olivarez won the Viking Heart award. D.J. Estep was the seventh-grade boys basketball MVP. Rex Kirchenstien was defensive player of the year and Torren Lewis was most improved. Andrew Thompson was the ‘B” team MVP, and Jamasyn Virgil was the most improved. Gavin Grossman was the mental attitude award winner. Hunter Craft was most improved on the sixth-grade boys basketball team, and Marcus Jansma won the mental attitude award. Brendyn Stump won the best defensive player award. Alex Bailey won the “B” team mental attitude award, and Alex Parson was most improved. Quentin Aldridge was the eighth-grade boys basketball MVP, and George Gillman was most improved. Matt Howes was the defensive player of the year. Lucas Goble was the “B” team MVP, with Johnny Gonsalez and Michael Sexton winning mental attitude awards. Kaylei Hann was the sixth-grade cheerleader’s most spirited award winner, and Lilly Lowe won the mental attitude award. Allison Smythe was most improved. Brianna Feldman was the most spirited seventh-grade cheerleader, with Morgan smith winning the mental attitude award. Mariah Leininger won the coaches award. Parriah Laramore won the eighth-grade cheerleader coaches award.
