Trojans' Win At LaVille Leads Local Roundup

LAKEVILLE — The Triton boys basketball team ended a two-game losing streak to the LaVille Lancers Saturday in Lakeville.
Winning 44-38, the Trojans avenged a 50-48 loss to LaVille back on Jan. 18 in the TCU Bi-County semifinals.
Clay Yeo led the way with 21 points, followed by Tanner Shepherd’s eight.
The victory improved Triton to 11-5 and leaves the Trojans in a three-way tie for first place in the Northern State Conference at 4-1 with Bremen and New Prairie.
Triton can break that tie Thursday at home against Bremen.

The Manchester boys basketball team defeated Peru 61-55 Saturday in North Manchester. In the win, Claudel Dickantone led the way with 15 points, while Derek Flack scored 14 and Clayton Petrie posted 10. Up next for the Squires is Thursday’s home game against Caston.

The Wawasee and Warsaw gymnastics teams finished seventh and eighth, respectively, at Saturday’s Lakeland Invitational. Angola won the meet with 102.7 points, while Wawasee had 93.0 and Warsaw finished with 89.8. Both teams are back in action Thursday, as Warsaw hosts Plymouth and Wawasee travels to Elkhart Central.
