Todd Aaron Skeans, 44, of Hoffman Lake (Warsaw), passed away after courageously battling a long illness, at 6:52 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.
He was born Dec. 21, 1973, in Warsaw, to Jerry G. and Janice R. Kelm Skeans, who both survive.
He was a Warsaw Community High School graduate, class of 1992. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology.
He worked in concrete most of his life and was a master finisher. He was a member of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Local Union 692.
In addition, he enjoyed working on cars, playing games with his family – he was the undisputed Scrabble champion – visiting with friends and working outside, especially in the garden.
Most of all he loved his family dearly and enjoyed all the time spent together with his family and friends.
Todd will be lovingly remembered by his children: Sara, Jessica and Michael Skeans, all of Warsaw; the mother of his children, Becky (spouse Jeff) Smith; his brothers and sisters: Jesse (companion Christy) Skeans, Jordan (spouse Chelsea) Skeans, Rachel Skeans and Jill (spouse Chad) Peterson; grandmothers, Donna Kelm and Rebecca Skeans; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Ordell Kelm and Ted Skeans Sr.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2 p.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel. Chaplain Bob Jarboe will officiate the service.
Interment will be private.
