Tippy Valley's Golf Win Over Whitko Leads Roundup

NORTH MANCHESTER — The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team got itself a Three Rivers Conference win at North Manchester’s Sycamore Golf Club Tuesday.
Visiting Sycamore to take on the Whitko Wildcats, Valley shot a 167 on the par-36 front nine, with Whitko shooting a 184.
Valley’s Tanner Neeley was the medalist, shooting par, while teammate Teddy Shepherd shot a 39.
Also for Valley, Kevin Summe, Bryce Zimpelman and Ben Shriver all shot a 46.
Whitko was led by Colton LeTourneau’s 42, followed by Danny Zawlocki’s 43, Josh Busenbark’s 44, Cole Bechtold’s 55 and Matt Hathaway’s 55.
Whitko will be at Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw Friday to take on Lakeland Christian Academy, while Valley’s next match is Saturday’s TRC meet, which will be at Rozella Ford.

In a three-way Northern Lakes Conference match at Maplecrest Golf Club, the 20th-ranked Northridge boys golf team came out on top with a 161. Wawasee finished the course with a 166, while Goshen shot a 168. Wawasee’s Luke Jackson was the medalist, shooting a 37. The Warriors are at Stonehenge Golf Club Thursday to face the No. 7 Warsaw Tigers.

Getting a run in the top of the seventh, the Warsaw baseball team defeated Plymouth 2-1 Tuesday on the road. The win is Warsaw’s fifth in six games and improves to the team to 10-9 overall and 5-5 in the Northern Lakes Conference. In the win, Brock Anson and Kyle Morris each hit doubles, while Jason Ferguson posted a triple. The Tigers are back in NLC action tonight, traveling to NorthWood.
