LAKEVILLE – The Tippecanoe Valley wrestling team went 4-1 at Saturday’s LaVille Invitational. On the day, the Vikings defeated River Forest (48-34), South Bend St. Joseph (54-21), Mishawaka Marian (51-30) and LaVille (46-21), but lost to Bremen (40-27). Individually, Devin Childers went 5-0 at 132 pounds, recording four pins and Arron Heller also went 5-0, his being at 152, where he got two pins. Also for Valley, Austin Nelson (126), Landin Madsen (138), Garrett Bell (160), Wes Beck (182) and Jaron Kidd (195) all went 4-1 on the day. The 13-6 Vikings will be at Saturday’s Rochester Invitational.

South Bend St. Joseph won the meet with 424, followed by Wawasee’s 294 and Bremen’s 230, to round out the top three. For Wawasee, Tristan Mauk won the meter dive with a score of 194.95, while Luke Smith was second in the 50 free (2362). The Warriors host the Warsaw Tigers tonight in Northern Lakes Conference action.
