Tim Tebow Speaks At Grace CollegeWINONA LAKE – Tim Tebow spoke at Grace College’s Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center Friday morning to a near-capacity crowd.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, two-time Bowl Championship Series winner, NFL quarterback and minor league baseball player covered a wide range of topics during his hour-long speech.

Tebow’s central message was how his faith has helped him get through many difficult moments and has been a constant force in his life. He relied on his faith to help him decide what college to go to in order to play football, helped him prepare and focus for big games in the NFL and what he will do outside of sports for a much bigger calling.

When he was playing for the Florida Gators in the 2009 BCS National Championship, Tebow wrote “John 3:16” on his eye black and the Bible verse was seen by millions watching on television. At the end of the game, he was told that over 90 million searches were done on Google about what the verse meant, and Tebow was very excited he could use his platform as an athlete to bring awareness to Jesus Christ.

He reinforced that every person has special talents and that they can be used for a greater purpose and serve others. Tebow knows he can’t play sports forever, so he has taken every opportunity now to help others. He started the Tim Tebow Foundation, which holds an annual prom – called A Night To Shine – for disabled kids in every state and all over the world.

Athletically gifted, Tebow has vowed to make his life’s mission to follow in God’s footsteps, but not solely focus on sports. He begins another mission today, as he travels back to Florida to begin spring training in the New York Mets organization.
