Posted
Three people were arrested in connection to a home invasion on Monday, according to a news release from the Warsaw Police Department.
Daricus Phillips, 20,  Warsaw; Jwain Sullivan, 22,  Warsaw; and Taylor Brandon, 18, Mentone, were all charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, level 3 felonies. Sullivan also was charged with residential entry and Brandon faces a second charge of aiding, inducing or causing a felony.
The release states that on Monday morning, Phillips knocked on the door of a homeowner in Oak Brooke Place and asked the homeowner for her nephew. The homeowner responded that her nephew was not home.
Phillips knocked again moments later, asking for the nephew and money. The homeowner responded there was no money when a second man, wearing a red bandana, struck her with an object wrapped in a towel.
The homeowner argued with the men, which woke up her fiance. The men then struck the fiance in the face with the object as well.
The men fled after taking a Playstation 4®, a cell phone, cash and some marijuana.
Police arrested Phillips at a nearby gas station along with his girlfriend, Brandon. Brandon is believed to have driven the men from the scene.
After an investigation, the police found the stolen items at Sullivan’s house. Sullivan was arrested during a traffic stop.
All three were booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Monday afternoon. Sullivan and Brandon’s bond was set $20,250. Phillips’ bond was set $20,613.50.
Indiana State Police and Winona Lake Police Department assisted in the investigation.
