The Ruling Class

Editor, Times-Union:

When I hear politicians claim they believe in equal justice and that no one is above the law, I wonder if they really mean what they say. If they do, Hillary Clinton would be in federal prison today for her criminality and her husband would be shunned by the woke crowd for his many trips on the Lolita express. But they are part of the ruling class. The ruling class can do what it wants because the members know they can get away with almost anything.

I'm hoping the governors in California, New York and Michigan can be thrown out of the ruling class by the voters.  The pandemic gave them dictatorial power and thousands died. They probably are jealous of the governors of Texas, Florida, and South Dakota that didn't have strict lockdowns of their citizens yet they have less per capita death tolls and the citizens are freer.

Racism is being thrown around like the F word in an R-rated movie. But what about elitism? Maybe if we said the members of the ruling class were elitists and their version of justice was unjust maybe they might get hot and bothered.  When we see members of the ruling class shred the Constitution to try and get their way, we should at least post emails pointing out their disregard for the document they claim to honor and uphold. Washington, D.C., was created so that it wouldn't become a state. It was supposed to be unaffiliated with any political party. I think it is ironic that Democrats thought Donald Trump shredded the Constitution and broke the law often. It is like calling a preacher a spouter of hate speech and his accusers are foul-mouthed bullies. I fear that if the ruling class try to bypass the Constitution to get their way, the accusation of racism will be flung around and be used to force the city to become the 51st state. I hope Roberts will side with the Constitutionalists of the Supreme Court if D.C. statehood is debated in the Court.

Biden might believe he is in the ruling class. But he is doing what the ruling class want him to do and when his usefulness is over, he will be discarded and Harris, another ruling class wannabe, will replace him and she might be replaced in 2024 by a true member of the ruling class.  Maybe if the ruling class can be treated like the members of the French ruling class from the late 1700s, the voters will symbolically lop off their heads and people that actually care about America will take over. It would be nice if Donald Trump can become the next president like Grover Cleveland, a decent Democrat.
