Editor, Times-Union: This is Christmas! With all the business of the season, let’s do not forget the mission of Jesus Christ and the amazing free gift of eternal life. This is amazing grace. His “mission” is to come to earth to die for you and me. He died a cruel death in our place. The facts are Pilate and Herod became friends; the two were formerly at enmity. In the trial of Jesus, Pilate said,“I find no fault in this man on account of the things you are accusing him of.” The Gospel of John records the words “no fault” three times. By the judgment of Pilate’s testimony, this was a false trial. Jesus is Holy; He did not deserve to die. He died in our place, so that you and I could live for him, have real life and live eternally with him. What an amazing gift. This is the “Message of Christmas.” Pilate also asked Jesus: “What is truth?” Jesus’ answer in John 14 is “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto to the Father, but through Me.” He did die, for you, but Jesus did not stay in that grave; he arose on the third day. How wonderful is that! He is alive! This is the true message of the gospel! You have a pardon for your sin, all you have to do is believe. You are forgiven! Jesus said on the cross: “All your debts are paid in full.” The thief on one side of him was set free of his sins because he believed. The prophet Isaiah says, “His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” He came once and for all to die! All mankind may live with him forever. “The cross is sufficient for all, but only effective for those who believe.” Do you believe? Accept Jesus Christ as you savior and lord. He wants to save you from sins, and real life is serving him. He will be with you all the way. I believe now that you will be persecuted for your faith, yes, even in America you may suffer death for him. But he is coming back again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in the city of Jerusalem. Study this for yourself, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, accept his gift of salvation and forgiveness with all your heart and have eternal life. Find a good pastor and talk to him and go to church. Tell your family and your friends this message and have Christ for Christmas. Give thanks, and it will be merry! Jon Siesennop Warsaw
