On the next anniversary of Ronald Reagan's death, could we see a cartoon of Reagan at the Iran-Contra hearings wearing a diaper and a bib with a caption of "I don't recal," mimicking his condition of advanced Alzheimer's and dementia?
What the hell is wrong with the editorial staff at the Times-Union? Did you have simultaneous lobotomies? To print such an abhorrent, loathsome, contemptible cartoon featuring Sen. Kennedy's coffin is indefensible. To print it directly opposite Mr. Townsend's well-justified concerns of editorial content and the tastlessness of your cartoons seems unnecesarily arrotang and disrespectful to one of your long-time subscribers.
Yeah, that death by brain cancer is really funny stuff. I should know. I lost my beloved 25-year-old daghter to it. You people sicken me.

Note:The cartoon did not belittle or mock the Senator or brain cancer. It did, however, take to task Democrats in Congress who are exploiting the Senator's death to gain political advantage on the issue of health care.
