LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Our beloved daughter Sydney, and precious 4-year-old grandson Julian, are safe in the arms of the Lord after tragic deaths on the evening of Jan. 10, 2008.
Sydney, 37, was born Feb. 7, 1970, in Warsaw, to Lloyd and Jean Lemler Gift, who survive in Naples, Fla.
She attended Warsaw Christian School until the family moved to Naples, Fla., in 1979. She graduated from Naples High School, attended Edison Community College and Palm Beach Junior College and was a graduate of Saint Mary's School of Radiology. She was a radiologic technologist, mammographer and clinical instructor at Bethesda Hospital, Boynton Beach, Fla.
On June 23, 2003, she gave birth to Julian, our only grandchild and the joy of our lives.
Also surviving Sydney and Julian are her sister, Bethany (and spouse Randy) Carroll, Bonita Springs, Fla.; her aunts and uncles: Richard Lemler, New Mexico; Shirley Lemler (and spouse John) White and Jimmy Lemler, both of Warsaw; June Lemler (and spouse Griff) Davies, Oregon; Frances Lemler McGuire, California; and Joyce Gift (and spouse James) Brower, Indiana; many cousins; Sydney's maternal grandmother, Helen Lemler Anglin, Warsaw; and Julian's paternal grandfather, Ivan Tomas, Florida. In addition to family, Sydney has left behind many incredible and loyal friends and co-workers. Our lives have been forever changed.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Palm Beach Baptist Church, 6201 S. Military Trail, Lake Worth, Fla., with Pastor John Hawkins officiating. A reception will follow the service.
