Susie McEntire, Mark Eaton Visit Beaman Home

Posted
Susie McEntire, Mark Eaton Visit Beaman HomeResidents of The Beaman Home were surprised when country and gospel singer Susie McEntire and husband, Mark Eaton, stopped by the shelter for a short time before their sound check for the community Christmas concert Saturday evening in Warsaw.
While at the shelter, the two were warm and inspirational as they enjoyed cookies and punch, and sat down to talk with some of the residents and share their personal stories of abuse and hope, according to a news release from The Beaman Home.
Board members and staff members were present to greet McEntire and Eaton, and later many attended the public Christmas performance at Lakeview Middle School. McEntire indicated that they travel around the country inspiring others with their stories of surviving domestic abuse.
One resident indicated she “gained a lot of insight from hearing their experiences and knowing that other women go through the same thing.”
The release states, “The Beaman Home is thankful for their visit, and how Mark and Susie inspired not only the residents, but also the staff and board members during their unexpected visit arranged by local promoter Mike Loher.
“Thanks to community support, the Beaman Home is able to take advantage of opportunities that benefit the residents. It is Beaman Home’s desire to continue to provide life-saving and enriching programs and services to residents of the shelter and clients in outreach programs. Beaman Home accepts gifts to sustain these programs in the form of cash, checks, stocks, life insurance, online giving and more,” the release continues.
