Editor, Times-Union: There's what is called a frontrunner, and then there is what is called a proven overcomer. It's one thing to be a master at building buildings for oneself, but it's a far better thing to be a master at building thinkers for one's society. It's one thing to be a candidate that boasts high numbers and who takes great pride in becoming rich, but it's a far better thing to be a candidate who boasts high values and who takes great pride in enriching the lives of others As President, we believe that Dr. Carson will lead as one of history's greatest servant leader, and redefine what it means to live in a great country. Dr. Carson has shown that a great country is born out of a great love for all of its people no matter who they are or where they live. A great country is one filled with great men and women who understand their responsibility to empower the next generation to achieve even greater. Dr. Carson has taught us through out this campaign that greatness is not in title, position, or socio-economic status. A great country is where ordinary people with extraordinary purpose take personal responsiblity for the betterment of everyone, on every street, and in every way. Our candidate has dedicated his life to making American’s lives better, one life at a time - he'll do the same in the oval office. It's up to us as Carson Supporterts to serve the communities that he couldn’t stump in, reach the audiences that he couldn’t speak to and make the ripple that he started in this race go farther. Whereas Dr. Carson didn't allow his lack of pedigree or even his humble upbringing to keep him from dreaming beyond the barrier of class and achieving more than statistics predicted. Whereas Dr. Carson has dedicated his life to making people whole and being a demonstrative model of leadership rooted in reverence for God. Whereas Dr. Carson has produced to the world a body of work that is award winning, timeless and crucial to the survival of with all races in all parts of the country. Whereas Dr. Carson is not a politician but rather a crusader of the constitution, champion of the common man, and a humble man speaking in plain terms to advance the power of a worthy idea. Whereas Dr. Carson is leaving the comfort of a private life to pursue a public calling because he cares about the critical state that the American Dream is in and he believes in the people's ability to help him heal, inspire and revive it. Whereas Dr. Carson is the definition of a servant leader whose self worth is not based on who he becomes but rather who he inspires others to be. There are many more reasons why Dr. Ben Carson is the perfect citizen/statesman, who would be an amazing president. Submitted by Edith Bauer Warsaw, via email
