Supports Benyousky

Editor, Times-Union:

I was pleased to read Shari Benyousky’s letter to the editor published in the Times-Union on Sept. 4.

I support Shari Benyousky’s candidacy for Wayne trustee, which is expected since I am running for Wayne trustee Board and have aligned my campaign with Shari’s. But, here’s why I want her to win.

Shari Benyousky has a vision for the Wayne trustee that I believe in wholeheartedly. You see, each Indiana Township trustee has the freedom to fill gaps that exist in each of the 1,008 individual Townships in Indiana. This is a broad flexibility to take action that city and county governments do not always have and which a trustee with vision can use.

Wayne Township in Kosciusko County is mostly composed of the city of Warsaw, the village of Winona Lake with some surrounding areas. We are fortunate that both Warsaw and Winona Lake have their own municipal governments and they cover a full range of basic services like police or water and sewer.

This creates a real opportunity for a smart and professional Wayne Township trustee and board to adjust or even expand critical work with no extra taxes. Critical services with limited resources that are now offered, like special job training, education support, economic growth, public transportation or child care can be improved.

A Wayne trustee with vision should collaborate with County and City Government while partnering with Kosciusko County’s vibrant non-profit network and with for-profit companies that employ our residents to make our hometown even better. I am ready to serve on the Wayne Township Board and Shari is ready to be that trustee.

Best news for last. Our vision can be accomplished with zero extra tax money going to the trustee.

The Wayne trustee status-quo can change. But, nothing will change unless you make the effort to vote for the underdogs.  That’s us, the “Bfortrustee Team”. Shari Benyousky for trustee. Lori Rowe, Laura Deal Decker and Jim Falkiner for Wayne trustee board.

You will help yourself and your fellow Wayne Township residents if you vote for an active and cooperative Wayne Township trustee with a positive vision.
