Stolen Items

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

The Baker Youth Club is in the process of building its second annual Haunted House with the theme "Dr. Buzzsaw's Haunted Hospital." Many volunteers and board members have already been putting in countless hours to make this happen. These volunteers and board members have also donated the use of many of their personal tools and supplies.

Unfortunately, on the night of Aug. 26, someone broke into the haunted house site and stole all our saws, tools, screws, air compressors and many other items. The theft occurred on U.S. 30 east of Warsaw at the old TTP building, the site of this year's Haunted Hospital. It happened sometime between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. the next morning. If you have any information about who committed this crime, please call the Baker Youth Club or the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept.

What is most upsetting about this situation is not the loss of physical items, but the loss of funding to provide programs for the youth of our community through the Baker Youth Club. The great news from all this is that the core volunteers are more determined than ever to make the Haunted Hospital a huge success and have regrouped and come together stronger than ever. Any help you can provide to make this year's Haunted Hospital a success would also be greatly appreciated. The easiest way to help the Haunted Hospital would be to make sure to purchase your tickets in October when they go on sale. The more people that attend the Haunted Hospital, the more funding we can use to help the youth of Kosciusko County. If attending the Haunted Hospital is not an option for you and you would still like to help out, please call me at the Baker Youth Club, 574-267-8771.

The Haunted Hospital will run Oct. 17-18, 24-25 and 31. For more information, visit our Web site at www.bakeryouthclub.com
