Squires Win In Sectional OpenerBUNKER HILL – Fermin Guerrero and Noah Beck scored goals in the first half for Manchester, then the Squires added five more goals in the second half for a 7-0 win over host Maconaquah in a boys soccer sectional match Monday.
Guerrero added another goal in the second half, and Eric Morales scored twice after halftime. Justin Self and Isaiah Davis also found the net after intermission for Manchester.
Mathias McLaughlin had two assists in the match. Caleb Stout, Brandon Wagoner, Noah Beck, Self and Morales all had one assist. Goalkeeper Konrad Borgmann had seven saves.
Manchester (13-3-1) advanced to the semifinals and will play Fort Wayne Concordia (12-2-4) at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The other semifinal features Tippecanoe Valley taking on Columbia City at 7:30 p.m.
