Sports Briefs10-Year-Old Gets Third Ace

Brayden Miller made a hole-in-one on  the 185-yard 17th hole during Junior League play at Raccoon Run. It was witnessed by Isaiah Stockman. The ace is the third for the 10-year-old Miller.



First “Bre’s Run” July 8

BOURBON – “Bre’s Run,” an event to raise money for the Breanna S. Lemler Memorial Scholarship, will be held at 7:30 a.m. July 8 at Triton Junior/Senior High School in Bourbon. Lemler was a Triton alum and a Purdue student when she was killed in a car accident July 10, 2016.

There will be a mini-marathon ($40), a 5K race ($30) and a Fun Run ($20). Registration can be completed online at  www.runsignup.com/Race/IN/Bourbon/ BresRun or on the day of the races.

Warrior Open July 10

SYRACUSE – The 23rd annual Warrior Open, a fundraiser for the athletic department at Wawasee High School, will be held July 10 at South Shore Golf Club.

There will be morning and afternoon flights, and a contest package that includes a chance to win a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu from McCormick Motors, a 2017 Sea-Doo Spark personal watercraft from Main Channel Marina, $10,000 cash from Northern Lakes Insurance and other prizes.

Homes 4 Haiti Golf Event July 15

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Homes 4 Haiti Golf Event will be held July 15 at Sycamore Golf Club. The scramble will begin with registration at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

The cost is $260 per team. Several contests will be held, including a chance to win a $1 million for a hole-in-one. Prizes will be given for first and second place, longest drive and longest putt.

LCA To Host Basketball Camps

WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian Academy will host basketball camps in two sessions from July 10-13 at the school, 1093 S. CR 250E, Winona Lake.

Students in kindergarten through third grade this fall will be from 9-11 a.m., and grades 4-8 will be from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The cost is $50 and includes a T-shirt. Registrations are due by June 30.
