SILVER LAKE - At Wednesday night's meeting the Council approved a quote for three laptop computers at $619.99 each.
These laptops will replace outdated chromebooks used for Council business.
The Council approved the 2023 county/town terminal service agreement of $550 for the Silver Lake Police Department and Town Marshal Jason McGlennen's request to use donation money and other funds for the purchase of a new vehicle and equipment.
This new police vehicle will replace an older F150 pickup. The truck will be purchased and used by the utilities department.
The Council tabled the decision on 2023 salary increases until the December meeting.
In other business:
• McGlennen reported data from the radar speed signs at each entrance of town. The traffic count on the N. Ind. 15 sign was over 19,000 during one week in October.
• Fire Chief John Conley reported 11 runs last month: two alarms, one car accident, one assist with Burket, three medical assists and three fires.
The Council will next meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 12. This was rescheduled from Dec. 14.
