It was reported in the Times-Union (Zolman, June 13) “reliable sources” feel that the sheriff was “set up.” I?recall in the Times-Union that Paul Heaton recorded (secretly?) the World War III discussion — so Heaton had physical evidence and had proof (of intimidation).
The other part of the indictment was collusion, but he had no solid evidence. Thus, all the other nine charges quickly evaporated into thin air.
The only solid evidence was Heaton tapes. Was this entrapment?
Also, I would be very careful about printing hearsay — “Rovenstine was set up” (Zolman, police situation, Times-Union, June 15). That comment was not helpful and just added fuel to the fire.

P.S. “Set up” by Heaton implied, who are the “reliable sources”?
