I read with a great deal of interest the article on the front page of Wednesday's paper dealing with the sewer system going in around Tippecanoe and Chapman lakes.
It stated in the article that it was estimated about a third of the residents from Chapman Lake attended one or the other of the meetings and that the feeling was that most were in favor of the new sewer system. I was at the first meeting and am wondering how they came to that conclusion.
We were never ASKED how we felt about having a sewer system. We were just TOLD that we are getting one. They told us that our septic systems (on Chapman Lake) are not affecting the quality of the lake water, but we need to do this because they are getting one on Tippecanoe Lake, and we need to help pay for it. And while they are at it, they will grab up the houses in Oswego, Hawthorne Estates and anything else along to way to help pay for it too.
