I believe that the decision reached Tuesday morning by our County Commissioners was a well thought out and appropriate one and I applaud them for doing as much homework on the issue and giving it as much thought as they obviously did.
Immediately after the meeting I asked the reporter for the Times-Union if he had a hard copy of Commissioner Truex's prepared statement and he said he did, so I was disappointed that it doesn't appear in today's issue. I believe that it would be of benefit to the community if the Times-Union were to publish Commissioner Truex's statement in its entirety as I believe that, as was evidenced by the folks who spoke at the end of the meeting, there will be confusion and misunderstandings and the Times-Union publishing the exact statement will help reduce these.
Finally, thanks for all the effort Ron Truex, Bob Conley and Brad Jackson put into this issue and the manner in which they conducted the various sometimes emotional meetings. I'm proud of my County Commissioners.
