South Carolina has a shallow gene pool, in addition to its politicians' low IQs and bad taste. Look at the evidence.
Sanford the governor spends all kinds of public funds cheating on his wife and now refuses to get out of office. DeMint is acting like a playground bully and asking people to help him make sure the president fails no matter what. As a reminder, he also believes it should be illegal for single mothers to become teachers. Andre Bauer, the family values conservative, outed as gay lieutenant governor, and Kristin McGuire, the homeschooling, porn-writing head of the SC Department of Education.Let's see. Strom Thurmond did everything he could to oppose civil rights in this country, saying he wanted to keep blacks "in their rightful place." I could go on and on. Oh, and let's not forget the brilliant answer given by the South Carolina "beauty queen," which when asked why Americans cannot locate the US on a map said, "Uh, I believe that US Americans don't have maps ... and, uh, Africa, and the Iraq, they should help us, and ... the Iraq ... and should help us build up our future for our children." Remind anyone of Sara Palin?
And, of course, we all remember how patriotic and brave Wilson was when the Cheney administration presented falsified documents to congress in the name of war. Yep.
There is specific language in HR3000 saying illegal aliens will not be covered. It was Rep. Wilson that was lying.
With signing autographs and mega donations (it makes me wonder how much of Joe the Heckler contributions came from), money and fame don't buy you class. You can raise funds without having to actually work for it. I mean, it's a heck of a lot easier than raising money the old-fashioned way (you know, based on your own merits and actual work). Please continue to throw your money down the toilet.
South Carolina has the third highest infant mortality rate out of 50 states. That's some health care to be proud of. It also ranks No. 1 in violent crime, No. 1 in percentage of mobile home units, No. 5 in traffic fatalities, No. 37 in residents with bachelor degrees. Turn some of your strong emotion toward these things, Joe Wilson.
Obviously, his plan worked out. He got the press, the attention, and now his peeps are rewarding him for all his diligent and courageous work. Well done, sir. This was a well-orchestrated tactic to raise some flash funds for what appears to be a formidable campaign. Maybe other legislators should adopt this tactic as well? Obviously, there will be some negative repercussions but, hey, it'd be worth it in order to get your name in all major news media outlets for a few days and mobilize your base. Just shout out a couple derogatory remarks (or in this case, just two little disparaging words).
