Sadie Elura Cotton, 88, of Warsaw, died at 9:55 p.m. Sept. 6, 2011, at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Warsaw, to Richard Claven and Lydia Baker Gilbert. On Jan. 17, 1941, in Warsaw, she married Charles Edward Cotton Sr., who died July 27, 2005.
A lifetime Warsaw resident, she was a homemaker and was a cook at Warsaw Community High School for seven years. She was a life member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 258, Pierceton, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126, Warsaw.
Surviving are three children: Ed Jr. (and spouse Barbara) Cotton, Warsaw; Max Wayne (and spouse Ray Costa) Cotton, Syracuse, N.Y.; and Mary Jane (and spouse Dick) Harrell, Etna Green; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Eugene Cotton, Pierceton; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, a sister and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
