NORTH MANCHESTER – Ruth Ann Haynes, 78, of Laketon, died at 7:50 a.m. July 4, 2013, in her residence. She was born April 11, 1935, in Laketon, to John and Grace C. Thompson Moyer. On July 23, 1954, she married John W. Haynes, who died Nov. 10, 2000. She was a homemaker and a cook at Laketon Elementary School for 24 years, retiring in 1997. She was a lifelong member of Silver Lake Wesleyan Church, first in Laketon and eventually at Silver Lake, where she served as organist, Sunday school teacher and prayer leader among other things. She graduated from Laketon High School in 1953 and attended Marion College. Surviving are four sons: David A. (and spouse Jane) Haynes, Akron; Douglas A. Haynes and Dwight A. Haynes, all of Laketon; and Dennis A. (and spouse June) Haynes, Macy; a daughter, Dail Ann (and spouse Larry) Moore, Franklinville, N.C.; three sisters: Carol Moyer, Austintowne, Ohio; Beth Cooper, North Manchester; and Linda (and spouse Bob) Rupert, Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be at Laketon Cemetery with Pastor Larry Moore officiating. No calling is planned.
