I am Laura Deal-Decker and I am part of the Shari Benyousky's Wayne Township Trustee Team.
With great interest I read her letter to the editor called "The Newest Outsider" about the lack of usage of the current trustee's budget. I chose to run with Benyousky because much of my life is focused on helping people. I am a social worker, so I work with people in difficult situations daily. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect. I value providing help in a way that is truly beneficial by finding direction and support, I do not support shaming those who need our help.
In my work I have encountered many in difficult situations who need a little help. I am concerned the people of Wayne Township (Warsaw and Winona Lake) have not been helped as they could have been. Out of this moral duty to help our neighbors in a time of need I am taking action by running. Our community has needs and great opportunity. Together we can do more than take tax monies from you and put them in the bank.
