SYRACUSE – Rowena Olive Laird, 93, passed away June 29, 2012, in Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake.
She was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Kosciusko County, to Nathan and Carrie Lung Insley. On Oct. 30, 1937, she married Robert Johnson Laird, who died in 1988.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she resided in Grace Village for the past 14 years.
Surviving are a son, Roger (and spouse Rita) Laird, Warsaw; six grandchildren: Chad (and spouse Meighan) Laird, Warsaw; Kevin (and spouse Dana) Laird, Greenwood; Charles (and spouse Julie) Lee, North Carolina; and Stephanie (and spouse Shane) Gladden, Stacy (and spouse Hernan) Perez and Larry Laird II, all of Arizona; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Larrena Lee Duarte, and a son, Larry Laird.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
