Rosella Ruth Cochran, 85, of 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, died at 2:25 a.m. Aug. 4, 2011, in Grace Village Health Care.
She was born Sept. 1, 1925, in Montana, to Earl and Mrytle Gray Cochran.
She was a missionary for Grace Brethren Church. In May 1942, she graduated from Mount Ayr (Iowa) High School, and in 1946 from Broadlawns County Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, as a registered nurse. She then served in the U.S. Army as a nurse. In 1952 she went to Grace College Seminary, Winona Lake, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Christian education in 1954. She served as a missionary in the Central African Republic from 1954-86. After a brief retirement, she returned to the mission field in 1988 remaining there until 1990.
A memorial service will be at a later date at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. Burial will be in Middlefork Cemetery, Redding, Iowa.
