DECATUR — Robert N. “Bob” Harris, 86, Fort Wayne, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Bob was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Wabash County, to the late Grant O. and Mary Colbert Harris. On April 19, 1957, Bob married Marylin L. Smith.
Bob was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and served on the board of trustees for 44 years. He was a contractor in Kosciusko and Allen counties.
He served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War.
Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marylin L. Harris, Fort Wayne; a son, Todd A. Harris, Decatur; a daughter, Penni L. Loomis, Fort Wayne; his beloved grandchildren: Lyndi, Tye, Brandon and Brooke of Decatur, and Dustin Loomis and Ashley (Tyler) Moreland of Fort Wayne; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery A. Harris, and a sister, Marceline Weaver.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 8405 Lima Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior from 9 to 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Mona Safley.
Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside rites by Whitley County Korean Veteran Honor Guard.
