Robert “Bobby” A. Johnson, 71, of Warsaw, died at 12:25 a.m. Aug. 18, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born June 24, 1941, in Warsaw, to Joseph and Viola Fisher Johnson.
A lifetime Warsaw resident, he was a heavy equipment operator for Carey Excavating Inc. for 25 years, retiring in 2009. In earlier years, he drove semi, surviving a terrible accident requiring a very long recovery. He was mechanically inclined and was a likable person. His sister recalls him helping put up fair rides in earlier years.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. Johnson, Claypool; two sisters, Lois Maxine Rockey, Warsaw, and Mildred “Midge” Pook, Jackson, Tenn.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Johnson; seven brothers: Russell, Walter, Ernie, Joseph, Lawrence, Gerald and Rex Johnson; and a sister, Marilyn Boggs.
A graveside service will be at a later date in Packerton Cemetery.
