Richard W. ‘Rick’ Haflich

SYRACUSE — Richard W. “Rick” Haflich, 61, Syracuse, passed away at 11:37 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his home.

He was born Jan. 25, 1957, in Vincennes, to Richard F. and Jeanne Marie Norton Haflich.

He graduated in 1975 from Lincoln High School in Vincennes, attended Vincennes University and Purdue University aviation program.

He was married on March 13, 1990, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Jo Ann Friedt Jones, who survives.

He grew up in Vincennes and moved to Syracuse in 1995 from Louisville, Ky. He was the owner/operator of Authentic Hardwood Floor in Syracuse and was a charter/corporate pilot.

He was a member of the Church of God in North Webster.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Haflich, Syracuse; two daughters, Christina (Ranon) Amundson, Delavan, Wis., and Casie Haflich, Muncie; three grandchildren; his father, Richard F. Haflich, Vincennes; a sister, Cindy Brown, Sarasota, Fla.; and two brothers, Tom (Mary) Haflich, Vincennes, and Byron (Lesley) Haflich, Noblesville.

He was preceded in death by his mom and a brother, Mike Haflich.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Church of God, 300 N. Main St., North Webster, with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.

Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
