NAPPANEE - Richard Lee Harman, 81, of 84 Meadows, Nappanee, died at 11:37 a.m. March 18, 2010, in Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Kosciusko County, to Seward W. and Bernice Irvine Harman. On May 24, 1947, in Bremen, he married Lorene Grimm., who survives.

A lifetime area resident, he was an Atwood High School graduate and a member of First Brethren Church, Nappanee. He was a farmer and a truck driver for Ag Trucking, Goshen, and Mutschler Kitchens.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sonya (and spouse Richard) Nash, Granger; two sons, Larry L. (and spouse Cindy) Harman, Elkhart; and Gail (and spouse Denise) Harman, Nappanee; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Theodore "Ted" (and spouse Marilyn) Harman, Lexington, Mass., and LeRoy (and spouse Carol) Harman, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Chearyl K. (and spouse Max) Miller, Warsaw; and a half sister, Judith (and spouse Ray) Miller, Etna Green. He was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
