Richard 'Dick' A. Lemler

BOURBON – Richard “Dick” A. Lemler, 80, Tippecanoe, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Feb. 17, 2016, at home in his peaceful sleep.
He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Bourbon, to Harold and Ruth Secrist Lemler. On June 29, 1955, he married the love of his life Carol J. Redman, who preceded him in death June 19, 2011.
He was a lifelong resident of Marshall County. He was a farmer and had worked as an escort for Fairmont Homes. In his spare time he enjoyed sports, Indiana University Hoosiers and was a Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed the euchre club he has been a part of for over 50 years; having coffee with the “Corner Boys Club” at the corner restaurant in Bourbon where many stories were shared. He also served in the United States Army.
Surviving are a daughter, Jill (and spouse Tom) Neyhart, New Carlisle; a son, Mike (and spouse Kim) Lemler, Milford; and he was further blessed with five grandchildren: Abigail, Emily, Jacob, Gabe and Hannah; three brothers: Lowell “Butch” (and spouse Nancy) and Dennis “Boomer” Lemler, all of Bourbon; and Chester “Chub” Lemler, Tippecanoe. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, June Klotz and Peg Briney; and two brothers, Kenneth and LaMar Lemler.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tippecanoe Community Church, with David Steakhouse officiating. The family is asking that you dress casual for the funeral. Dick’s request is blue jeans! Burial will follow in the Tippecanoe Cemetery with military honors by the Bourbon American Legion.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
