Rev. Dortha E. Culver

SYRACUSE – The Rev. Dortha E. Culver, 95, formerly of North Webster, passed away Dec. 2, 2014, in Mesa, Ariz.
She was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Marland and Hazel Boyer Green. On Jan. 8, 1939, she married Kenneth Culver, who died in 1998.
She graduated in 1976 from the Nazarene Bible College with a bachelor’s degree. She went on to become an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene in Arizona. She was a pastor for more than 50 years.
She learned how to play piano at age 55. She went on to visit 49 of the 50 states.
Surviving are her two daughters, Rosalie (and spouse Kirk) Starkweather and Rebecca (and spouse David) Mahan; a son, Joseph (and spouse Karen) Culver; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Junior Green. She also was preceded in death by a son, Randall, and his wife, Janice; a great-grandchild; four sisters: Letha, Anna, Lucille and Katheryn; and one brother, Verland.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Burial is in North Webster cemetery, Mock addition.
