NAPPANEE - Raymond Dale Young, 79, of 679 6th Road, Bourbon, died at 2 p.m. Feb. 26, 2007, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, of complications from surgery.
He was born Dec. 28, 1927, in Kosciusko County, to Clarence and Gertrude Copenhaver Young. On July 26, 1952, in Bremen, he married Joann Schweisberger, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen.
Also surviving are two sons, Steve Young, Fort Wayne, and Al Young, Bourbon; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Linda) Helmuth, Bourbon; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Niebling, Sturgis, Mich.; and two brothers, Lowell Young, Bremen, and Kenneth Young, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen, with the Rev. Chuck Krieg officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
