Purdue Extension, CCS Partner For ‘Spring Into Health’ Workshops

Combined Community Services is partnering with Purdue Extension – Kosciusko County for a three-day event next week to help youth “Spring Into Health.” The free workshops will be April 4, 5 and 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. The workshops are available for youth in all grade levels. Children in first and second grade must attend with a parent, and free child care is available for younger children with pre-registration. Purdue Extension educators Mindy Wise and Jackie Franks will direct the workshops. Each session will include a hands-on cooking experience. Additionally, attendees will have a chance to participate in a fun game or physical activity. The workshops are free, however, youth must register to attend. CCS works with participants and their families to set and meet goals to increase income while decreasing government assistance through its economic self-sufficiency programs.
