Public Persecution

Editor, Times-Union:

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is a recent example of public persecution. He saw what was happening in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and wanted to help people out. He was armed because he knew there were dangerous people there. Two people were killed because they decided to attack him and he had to either defend himself or die.

The video tape evidence should have vindicated him. But the media wanted to persecute him and call him a vigilante.  If he were a vigilante and he had an AR-15, wouldn't there be more dead people? The media wanted to throw him in prison for the rest of his life. They remind me of a lynch mob that hangs their victim because they determined he deserved to be hanged even if later he is discovered to be innocent.

For years, the media has persecuted mainly conservative and religious people because they don't conform to their standards of conduct. President Trump might have accomplished much more than he did had he not been persecuted so much. There was no evidence of Russian collusion, but the media and Democrats that wanted to believe lies said there was abundant evidence. Yet they could have been exposed as liars if people had insisted they show their evidence or risk being called liars. When Trump was accused of being corrupt, people should have asked his accusers for evidence. If they would have said there was so much evidence that they didn't know where to start, the person asking for evidence should have said they should present at least one or two examples or risk being called liars within ten seconds. If they couldn't give an example of corruption, they would be exposed as liars.

The political prisoners of Jan. 6 are being persecuted today and a show trial in Congress wants to declare them as terrorists that need to be locked away for years. People in the media said it was the worst attack on Democracy since the Civil War. Actually, it might not have happened if Pelosi and Democrats involved with the elections in 2020 hadn't fooled around with the voting process. There are many examples of irregularities and voter fraud that the people who came to Washington that day wanted Congress to correct the attacks on Democracy the Democrats produced.  I've yet to hear about the audits of the ballots cast in the states that helped put Biden over the top. But those that want the facts to be known are persecuted by some of the same people that caused the problems.

We're entering the season when Christian persecution becomes prevalent. Anti-Christian people will condemn schools for having Christmas programs that feature Biblical songs and the story of Christ's birth. Since schools aren't in Congress, they have the right to honor God unhindered.
